The Promaster Challenge Diver is a design tribute to its famous 80’s model of which one was found at Long Reef Beach in Australia in 1983. It had washed up covered in barnacles, determined to have been at sea for 2-3 years but it was found, still ticking! Certainly an ode to the Citizen craftsmanship. The original watch, a 1977 model, currently resides in Citizen’s watch museum at their headquarters in Japan. The updated model pays homage to the original-inspired timepiece with inherited design features lending the Challenge Diver a vintage edge. Featuring a brown dial and brown stainless steel case and gold bezel-edge accent, the watch band is stainless steel with a push button buckle. This with the domed mineral crystal glass lends this timepiece a retro appeal and the slim 41mm case allows for versatility in wearing both in and out of the water. Appealing for its vintage-inspired style but also for its technical functionality, the Promaster Challenge Diver comes equipped with automatic technology, water resistance up to WR200/20 bar, 3 hands and day/date display.
